St. Lukes Powhatan

St. Luke's Service Information

Each Sunday we offer three services:

8:00 a.m: At 8AM in the Sanctuary (the church building) we celebrate Holy Communion. This service does not include music and thus the atmosphere is especially quiet and reflective.

9:00 a.m: Our 9AM Holy Communion service is held on the lower level of the Parish Hall and can be accessed through the front door of the hall or via a more direct entrance at the rear of the building. Parking for this service is conveniently located at the front, side and rear of the Parish Hall. I might describe this service as being particularly “child friendly” (although children are warmly welcomed at all of our services). I would label our 9AM service as such because each Sunday the children choirs participate and there is a children’s sermon offered by yours truly – which is always fun for me to do. I hope you can sense that this is a more “relaxed” setting, but we still strive to conduct an orderly worship service so persons of all ages will understand and acknowledge that it is our intention to honor God in all that we do.

11:00 a.m: Our worship day then concludes with a service of Holy Communion at 11AM in the Sanctuary. There is music and hymns at this service with the adult choir participating.
