Education for Ministry (EfM)
Every baptized person is called to ministry. The EfM program provides people with the education to carry out that ministry. EfM offers an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian service.
St. Luke's hosts an EfM group in conjunction with Manakin Episcopal Church, in Midlothian, on Wednesday evenings. For more information, contact the church office. You can also learn about the national EfM program at the following site - http://www.sewanee.edu/EFM/index.htm

Special Studies are held seasonally (during Lent) or on special topics.
Centering Prayer in a group is held on second and fourth Mondays at 7:00 PM. This is a silent form of prayer that creates space in our lives to be attentive to God. Groups at other times can be formed if there is interest.
Holy MOCs is for Men of the Church who gather on Thursdays at 7 AM to pray, read and reflect on the Gospel appointed for the coming Sunday.
Cursillo is a 3 ½ day retreat held at our Diocesan Conference Center. Cursillo is a Spanish word meaning “short course”; it is a short course in Christianity and has been a spiritually enriching experience for many. Participants are given tools that assist them in deepening their spiritual journey and engagement in ministry. For information, see or speak with our Rector or anyone who has participated.
Chanco-on-the-James is our Diocesan Church Camp in Surry County. They provide summer camp experiences to youth, and other weekend youth and family camps throughout the year.
Order of St. Luke (OSL) is an international and ecumenical order that promotes the ministry of Christian healing prayer. We are forming an OSL chapter based at St. Luke’s with a study meeting on Thursday evenings.
