Join Us for Adult Forum
on Sunday Mornings at 9:10 AM
in the Parish Hall

Adult Forum is a wonderful opportunity to engage in conversations centered on living the Christian Life.

Into the Fall, we will continue our exploration of the Hebrew Scripture’s Prophets with a study of Isaiah. Often referred to as the “Fifth Gospel”, Isaiah is the most quoted Old Testament book in the New Testament, with many New Testament writers and Jesus Himself referencing its passages. Its messages of hope and salvation have greatly influenced our understanding of God. Woven into the text are insights into the greatness, grace, and glory of God and God’s work of redemption.

09/14  Isaiah, Part I    10/05  Isaiah, Part IV
09/21  Isaiah, Part II 10/12  Isaiah, Part V
09/28  Isaiah, Part III   10/19  Isaiah, Part VI
10/26  Isaiah, Part VII

FOREST CHURCH

Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote "Earth's crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God”.  Forest Church is a contemporary Christian movement centered around worshipping and connecting with God in nature. It involves activities like nature exploration, singing, and sharing food to foster a deeper connection with the natural world, its rhythms, and God. Drawing from ancient traditions, Forest Church seeks to find God's presence within creation, offering a fresh approach to spiritual community and worship that engages with both the environment and the community.

St. Luke’s hosts Forest Church on or near, the changing of the year’s seasons. Drawing from the themes of each season, we gather surrounded by God’s natural world to assist in an awareness of God’s love, care, and presence. We are asked to bring a lawn chair, invite our friends and neighbors, and meet at the back entrance to the Parish Hall at 4:00 pm.

September 21 – A Celebration of Fall – Balance – The Invitation to Sabbath
As the Earth moves to longer nights and shorter days, the natural rhythm is to slow down and begin to conserve energy. Unfortunately, these are not the invitations given by our society. Is a balanced life possible? What if we took seriously God’s gift of sabbath?
